German, WW2, Hitler Jugend Dagger / Knife, and Scabbard, by Carl Eickhorn, Solingen (Transitional Period). Small dagger with a beaked pommel, Bakelite chequered grip with two smooth dressed rivet heads with a diamond-shaped enameled swastika on red and white. Marked on the blade with the “Eickhorn squirrel logo, Eickhorn, Solingen, RZM M 7/66” and marked “40” (possibly for 1940) on the raised ricasso. The RZM M7/66 is the correct German wartime code for Carl Eickhorn, Solingen. This dagger looks like it fits the profile for the transitional period for these blades 1936-1940, with thicker blades, higher ricasso, no motto on the blade with maker mark and RZM designation.
The dagger comes in its original metal scabbard with a leather belt strap. The leather strap is embossed on the back with LFS over an Oak Leaf. The scabbard is magnetic sheet metal with no lip on the throat as it should be. Overall in excellent condition.
